Omoyele Sowore Calls Out The Past And Present Nigerian Leaders, “The Labour of Our Heroes Past” who are the heroes?


The former presidential candidate, and founder of an online news agency Sahara Reporters, Omoyele Sowore has called out the formal and present Nigerian leaders in his recent Tweet about Nigerian National Anthem that says “The Labour of Our Heroes Past” and asked “who are the heroes?

Some people have asked this cogent question: They said when we sing the National Anthem stanza that states, “The Labour of Our Heroes Past” who are the heroes? Is the one that started the civil war, or the one that imported Cement we didn’t need Or the ones that killed Dele Giwa?


“Or the one that rugged the first election and census, or the one that killed 1000 Shiites in one night. Or the one that destroyed Odi and Zaki Biam, or the one that stole billions of dollars with his woman friend or the one that spent $16b to venerate darkness or the one who was


“dead but decided not to hand over power, or the one that annulled a free and fair election or the one that overthrew a democratically elected government or the one that turned Nigeria into a Unitary state or the one that accepted to occupy a presidency he never contested for? Or,” he added.
